Vocabsters is a language learning game developed by Sam Harding. This Privacy Policy describes how Vocabsters handles user information.
We are committed to maintaining your privacy and ensuring that any data processed by our systems is handled responsibly and securely.
1. Information We Collect
Vocabsters is designed to minimize data collection. We do not collect or store personally identifiable information such as real names or ages.
The app may process the following limited information:
Sign in with Apple: Used solely for authentication. We do not receive or store your real name, email, or any personal data from Apple. Authentication ensures that you are a real user.
Username: Users select a username, which is stored and associated with their game progress.
Pincode: Users create a 4 digit pincode, which is stored and used for signing in.
Vocabsters does not collect:
Real names, ages or contact details.
Location data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Analytics, behavioral, or usage tracking information
2. How Information Is Used
The limited data collected is used exclusively to:
Enable user authentication
Save and synchronize gameplay progress and personalization
Display progress among users within the same group
We do not use this data for analytics, marketing, or advertising.
3. Data Sharing
User data is stored and processed by Supabase. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose user data to any other third parties.
In-app sharing that can occur:
A user’s display name is visible in multiplayer.
Group members can view each others usage data.
No other data is publicly visible or shared externally.
4. Data Security
Personal data (username, PIN code) is collected for account creation. This data is stored in a dedicated cloud database hosted via Supabase, encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit via TLS 1.2+. Usage data is also recorded in the database. Supabase is ISO 27001 certified and undergoes annual SOC 2 audits. All data is stored in the EU (Stockholm).
5. Authentication and Third-Party Services
Vocabsters uses Sign in with Apple for secure user authentication. Apple may process limited data as part of this function, as described in Apple’s Privacy Policy:https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Vocabsters does not integrate or utilize any additional third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.
6. Data Retention
Personal data (username, PIN code) is retained, usage data like content progress and personalization are retained aswell. If you wish to have your data deleted, please contact us, we will remove your associated data promptly.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date will always indicate the most recent version.
